Manchester United’s pre-season tour has brought several bright spots, but off-field developments continue to command attention as the transfer deadline looms.
The Red Devils are juggling final squad decisions while navigating persistent interest in several of their high-profile names.
Jadon Sancho, who was not part of United’s pre-season squad for their United States tour, remains at the centre of fresh transfer speculation.
Ruben Amorim has remained tight-lipped on the winger’s future, though internal discussions are believed to be ongoing regarding Sancho’s role heading into the 2025/26 campaign.
Now, with just days left in the window, pressure is mounting from Germany.
Borussia Dortmund are actively working on a potential deal to bring Jadon Sancho back to the Bundesliga for a third spell, with negotiations reportedly still alive.
Dortmund’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, fuelled speculation when asked directly about the situation.
He told Sky Sports Germany: “We have various targets.
“We will still do something. We have a few days left.”
Though Kehl stopped short of naming Jadon Sancho outright, his refusal to deny Dortmund’s interest was telling.
It follows weeks of behind-the-scenes work by the German side, who are said to be exploring a third reunion with the 25-year-old winger.
United are said to be holding firm on their valuation, with no final agreement yet in place.
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly confident they can structure a suitable deal before the window closes, either on a permanent basis or via another loan.
United, meanwhile, are keen to offload fringe players in order to free up space for potential late arrivals.
Whether Sancho’s future lies in Manchester or back in Germany remains to be seen, but with the clock ticking and Dortmund circling, the saga is far from over.
