Manchester United’s striking department continues to be a hot topic as pre-season preparations intensify under Ruben Amorim.

There remains a growing consensus that a new centre-forward is needed to share the burden with Rasmus Hojlund, who had a dismal last season.

With several key targets now off the market, attention has shifted toward identifying the right blend of youth, experience, and raw goal scoring ability.

INEOS are believed to prefer strategic investments over panic buys, but fans are urging the club to act swiftly with the new campaign only weeks away.

And now, Benjamin Sesko finds himself back in the headlines.

The Slovenian striker is suddenly the last major forward still realistically attainable, with many other big-name targets either committed elsewhere or priced well beyond Manchester United’s budget.

It was initially reported that Sesko reached a personal agreement with Arsenal, but the London club looks set to sign United target, Viktor Gyokeres instead.

Benjamin Sesko, 22, previously turned down a move to Old Trafford in 2022 when he opted to join RB Leipzig.

However, his agent has made multiple visits to Carrington since then, keeping communication channels open and hinting that the door is not entirely closed, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Now under contract with the Bundesliga side until 2029, Sesko’s price tag is expected to be significantly higher than the fee United were prepared to pay for Liam Delap, who opted to join Chelsea instead.

Despite Leipzig’s reluctance to sell, the club’s openness to doing business at the right price could tempt United, particularly if Amorim insists on adding another forward to his ranks.

Sesko’s profile fits the INEOS strategy: young, athletic, and with plenty of resale value.

But the challenge now is whether United are willing to push beyond their current financial ceiling in what would be a statement signing.

The striker scored 21 goals in all competitions last season.

With interest now expected to spike, United must act quickly if they are to win the race for one of Europe’s most coveted young attackers.
