As Manchester United set off for their pre-season tour of the USA, they remain focused in the transfer window.

United suffered a dismal campaign under Ruben Amorim last season, falling to a 15th place finish in the Premier League, making the need for a squad reshuffle crucial.

The signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have been completed, and United are further looking to make both outgoings and incomings to give themselves the best chance of success next season.

United are now searching for a striker as their next task in the transfer window, looking for a starting number nine after struggling seasons for both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund.

After being turned down by Viktor Gyokeres and Hugo Ekitike, who are expected to join Arsenal and Liverpool respectively, United have switched their focus to alternative options.

Premier League strikers Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson have been discussed, as well as RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko, who is viewed as a young, talented striker seen as an ideal fit for Ruben Amorim’s system at Old Trafford.

Fabrizio Romano has now revealed the fee it might take to bring Sesko to Manchester United, sharing the update via X and YouTube.

Sesko and Leipzig reportedly have a gentlemen’s agreement, which would allow him to leave the club for a fee of €70-80 million, plus €5-10 million in potential add-ons.

Although this clause is said to only apply to certain clubs Sesko considers “special,” United will be hoping they are one of those sides and that the release clause can be triggered.

As United prepare to ramp up their pursuit of a new striker, it is vital they get this signing right.

However, it is believed that United will need to sell before they can buy, as financial issues continue to limit their ability to make big-money signings.
