The battle to sign Benjamin Sesko remains one of the most tightly contested sagas of the summer transfer window.
Both Manchester United and Newcastle United are actively fighting for the RB Leipzig striker’s signature, with neither club yet securing a breakthrough.
After losing out on Liam Delap to Chelsea and Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal, United are especially keen to land Sesko and view him as their ideal striker for the future.
The Red Devils have held multiple talks with the striker’s agents.
However with Newcastle also putting forward a strong financial package, the race remains open.
And now, Fabrizio Romano on YouTube, has revealed the five key demands Sesko is considering before choosing his next destination.
According to Romano, Sesko is taking into account; his career trajectory, his lifestyle and personal life, chance to play European football, financial package on the table and the manager he will play under.
All five are being weighed up seriously, and no decision has been made yet, with a final call expected in the coming weeks.
Romano added: “It’s not about the bids now, it’s about the player.
“When the player decides, then it will be about the money.
“Newcastle are ready to pay the money, United are ready to beat them.
“Sesko is with his agent, with his family, and is considering all details of this decision.
“Sesko is taking his time.”
United’s inability to offer Champions League football next season may be what swings the tide in Newcastle’s favour.
However, this summer window has seen Newcastle miss out on several key targets – a pattern that may well continue, should Sesko choose United.
A saga that won’t be coming to an end anytime soon – but one that remains of huge intrigue.
Should the Red Devils fail to land Sesko, attention may have to turn to Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, who has recently been offered to the club.
