Bayern Munich are hands-down the biggest club in Germany, having won the Bundesliga an impressive 34 times, including winning 15 league titles in the last 20 years, as well as having won 30 domestic cups.

However, the German giants aren’t only victors nationally, but also on the global stage, having won six Champions League (formerly European Champions Cup) trophies, two UEFA Supercups, a UEFA Cup and two Club World Cups.

As such, Bayern have had no end of talent in their ranks, with the likes of Thomas Muller, Oliver Kahn, Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Muller and Robert Lewandowski having all graced their ranks over the years.

Last season saw the Bundesliga side add the likes of Michael Olise and Joao Palhinha to their side, with Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui leaving the club to join Manchester United.

This summer, the German side have been on the hunt once again, with Liverpool’s Luis Diaz at the top of their list of targets.

However, The Athletic have now reported that Bayern have had an official bid of £58.6 million instantly rejected by Liverpool, with the Premier League champions wanting upwards of £85 million for their talented winger.

Manchester United will now be hoping that this rejection will help them with their plans of offloading Marcus Rashford.

It’s understood that Bayern have been looking at Rashford as a potential Plan B for if they can’t seal a deal for Diaz.

Interestingly, Barcelona have been of the same mindset, having recently decided to go “all-in” on Rashford given Liverpool’s stance on Diaz.

Now, with Rashford’s price tag being under half of Diaz’, standing at around £40 million, the England international could be a more cost effective option for either club this summer.
