Barcelona are heading into the 2025/26 LaLiga season, looking to retain their title as last year’s champions.
The Spanish giants swept the league, scoring an impressive 102 goals in 38 games, only conceding 39 for a goal difference of 63.
In comparison, runners-up and fierce rivals Real Madrid only scored 78 goals, with 38 conceded for a goal difference of 40, finishing four points behind Barca.
Now, Hansi Flick is preparing his side to defend their crown, having already signed Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United with the option to buy at the end of the season.
Alongside the England international, Barca have also signed goalkeeper Joan Garacia from Espanyol, whilst having offloaded Pau Victor to SC Braga, Alex Valle to Como and Pablo Torre to RCD Mallorca.
Whilst Barcelona are keen to retain most of their star players, reports emerged over recent weeks saying that Manchester United were looking to try and lure Fermin Lopez to Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old primarily played a supporting role last season, making 46 appearances, averaging at 44 minutes per game, scoring eight goals and ten assists.
It was reported that in a bid to further boost their attack, United were preparing a bid of £61 million for the versatile attacking midfielder.

However, a day after the speculation emerged, Fabrizio Romano explained that no contact has been made between United and Barca over a move, adding: “There’s nothing at all at this stage with Fermin fully focused on Barça.”
Now, Romano has added to the storyline once more, confirming that Fermin Lopez is pledging his future to the LaLiga giants.
Taking to X, the renowned journalist relayed comments from Lopez, saying: “Barcelona fans should rest, because I will stay here… I will not leave Barça.”
The rejection from Lopez shouldn’t come as a major blow to United, with the rumours of a reported bid seemingly speculation at best, but also as the club have already remodelled their attack with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
