And one of the biggest changes so far has just come out of Spain.
Athletic Club have confirmed via X that winger Nico Williams has signed a mammoth new contract, committing his future to the Basque outfit until 2035.
“Nico Williams signs eight-year contract extension at Athletic Club, until 2035,” the club announced.
“The red and white winger will stay the next ten seasons at the club of his heart and his release clause increase more than 50% over the previous one.”
The Touchline via X claim his new release clause sits at over €96 million, effectively removing him from the transfer market for the foreseeable future.
Williams had been Barcelona’s top attacking target this summer, but with his new deal locking him down until 2035, the Catalan giants are expected to look elsewhere.

Manchester United would like to get Marcus Rashford off their books, and the club would entertain serious offers amid Amorim’s tactical reshuffle.
Barcelona’s financial situation remains delicate, but with Williams out of the picture, Rashford becomes one of the more attainable alternatives with star power.
Should the La Liga giants make their move, it could mark a dramatic turn in Rashford’s career — and provide United with funds to reinforce other areas of the squad.
Nico Williams staying in Bilbao may seem like a victory for Athletic Club — but it could also pave the way for a high-profile Premier League exit.
