Manchester United’s summer rebuild under Ruben Amorim is beginning to take shape, with several high-level targets now firmly on the radar.
The club’s midfield remains a key area of focus, especially with doubts over the futures of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.
Amorim has made it clear he wants mobility, strength, and technical quality in the centre of the park — a profile United are determined to find.

With Champions League qualification on the line, the club is wasting no time lining up potential signings regardless of how the season ends.
Amorim’s style of play requires a dominant presence in midfield who can dictate tempo, shield the defence, and transition quickly into attack.
That exact profile has led United back to a name they pursued heavily last summer.
Manchester United are still in contact with Atalanta over the signing of Brazilian midfielder Ederson, according to fresh reports in Italy.
The 24-year-old was the subject of a €50 million bid from United last summer, but Atalanta rejected the offer, holding out for a fee closer to €60–70 million.
It was reported that the Serie A club placed a €75 million price tag on Ederson.
Now, with Amorim pushing for midfield reinforcements, United have made renewed contact with the Serie A club to try and secure a deal, as per Alfredo Pedulla via X.
Atalanta remain firm in their valuation of Ederson, especially with interest also emerging from PSG and Juventus.

However, United are believed to be more confident this time around, with the player reportedly open to the move and intrigued by the prospect of working under Amorim at Old Trafford. T
alks are ongoing, and United are expected to return with an improved offer in the coming weeks.
Ederson has been one of Serie A’s standout midfielders this season, helping guide Atalanta to a strong finish in both domestic and European competitions.
Known for his power, ball-winning ability, and knack for scoring from midfield, he could be the perfect addition to United’s new-look engine room.
Whether United can meet Atalanta’s valuation remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt the Red Devils are back in the race.
