The list of former Manchester United players joining new sides is ever-increasing as sides look to strengthen ahead of the transfer window’s closure tomorrow.
So far this summer, we have seen Eric Bailly join Real Oviedo as he nears the closing stages of his career.
Furthermore, Ethan Galbraith has joined Swansea City from Leyton Orient and Ethan Hamilton has joined Dundee from Lincoln City.
With the final two days of the transfer window upon us, the list of former players joining other sides has every chance of going up.
Now, that list looks to be growing with Aston Villa set to sign a former Red Devils defender.
Speaking on his X page, Fabrizio Romano has given a deal for Victor Lindelof to join Villa his famous ‘here we go’ sign-off.
The defender is undergoing his medical currently as approved by Villa.
Furthermore, Romano has revealed that the agreement between Lindelof and Villa is valid until June 2027 with an option to extend this by a year to 2028.
The journalist has also revealed that the Birmingham based outfit had a higher proposal when compared to Italian outfit Fiorentina and Everton.
With the deal between the two parties set to go ahead, the former United player will look to pass his medical tests with flying colours.
Once he has completed his medical tests, he is most likely to join up with the rest of Villa’s squad that features names such as Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Martinez.
Furthermore, an official announcement can be said to be inevitable from Aston Villa.
If the Swedish defender successfully completes his move to Villa, Victor Lindelof could face United twice in the Premier League on the 20th of December this year and the 14th of March 2026.
