Aston Villa will arguably be looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the transfer window’s closure tomorrow.

Villa, who currently sit 17th in the Premier League, have made four signings this summer.

Among these four signings is goalkeeper Marco Bizot from Ligue 1 outfit Stade Brestois.

Furthermore, the Premier League outfit have also signed Evann Guessand, Yasin Ozcan and Oliwier Zych with the latter being promoted from the Villa Under-21 set-up.

However, even with these signings, more signings are likely to be incoming.

One of these signings is Victor Lindelof who is set to sign for the Villa Park outfit following Fabrizio Romano giving the deal his famous ‘here we go’ sign-off.

Now, it appears that Villa have made an approach for a player currently targeted by United.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa have made a formal approach for Senne Lammens.

The Royal Antwerp goalkeeper, who had previously given his green light to a move to Old Trafford, is reportedly viewed as the main option alongside Diego Costa to fill the potential void of Emiliano Martinez – should he leave Villa before the transfer window closes.

Earlier today, it was revealed that Martinez had reached an agreement with Manchester United over a move to Old Trafford.

With this the case, we could see a situation where Manchester United sign Martinez forcing Aston Villa into attempting to sign Lammens.

On the other hand, we may see a situation where the Red Devils complete the signing of Senne Lammens.

If this was to occur, it can be said to be unlikely that we would see Martinez move to Manchester United.

However, with just over a day of the transfer window left, nothing can be counted out just yet and only time will tell.
