Fabrizio Romano has revealed on X as an exclusive that AS Roma make contact for Tyrell Malacia as left back option.

He mentions also that these were during the talks for Jadon Sancho and have aksed for deal conditions for Malacia.

After joining United from Feyenoord in 2022, Tyrell Malacia has had difficulty establishing himself as a consistent starter at left-back, frequently playing second fiddle to Luke Shaw and then dropping in the rankings as a result of injury setbacks.

Despite making more appearances under Erik ten Hag in his debut season, he missed the most of the subsequent campaign due to persistent fitness issues.

United would rather cash in now than retain a player who doesn’t seem to fit into Amorim’s tactical intentions, even if the Dutch international still has time left on his contract.

With Shaw, Patrick Dorgu, Harry Amass and Diogo Dalot all currently ahead in the full-back hierarchy, Malacia’s prospects at Old Trafford remain bleak unless the situation changes quickly.

A move to AS Roma could be perfect for the Dutch defender at this stage of his career.
