A striker remains a priority for United.
However hopes of landing Viktor Gyokeres have taken a hit.
The Swedish forward is believed to favour a move to Arsenal over Old Trafford.
As it stands, United are still weighing up options to lead the line for the 2025/26 season.
Now, Arsenal have also made fresh contact over a potential move for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, according to GiveMeSport’s report.
Watkins is a name who is also on United’s radar, with the Red Devils recently making contact with Villa to discuss a potential deal.
It is common knowledge that United are still focusing on resolving Rasmus Hojlund’s future.
The club have made a cut-price deal available for any potential suitors.
United are also progressing with their pursuit of Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, before making the striker signing a priority.

Other names under discussion include Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and even former Villa striker Jhon Duran.
Although the latter was rejected due to high wage demands, as known at the start of July.
Arsenal, meanwhile, reignited their own interest in Watkins after having a £40m bid turned down in January.
Like United, their focus remains on Sesko and Sporting’s Gyokeres – both valued around €70m.
Although if those deals fall through, they could return to Watkins before the window closes.
Villa continue to value their striker at around £60m, and with three years left on his contract, they hold a strong position in negotiations.
