Andre Onana looks to be closing in a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

The goalkeeper, who joined United in 2023, has made 102 appearances for the Red Devils.

But, this season, he hasn’t made a single Premier League appearance with his only appearance falling in the League Cup where his mistakes arguably led to the Red Devils being knocked out of the tournament.

With Onana’s lack of involvement, speculation has been present about his United future, speculation that has seen the ‘keeper linked with clubs around the world as potential alternatives to Old Trafford.

Initially, West Ham United were linked with a move for the Cameroon international.

However, the Hammers were quick to reject a transfer move for the 29-year-old.

Then, Turkish side Trabzonspor were linked with a move for the goalkeeper following the closure of the English window.

Yesterday, the Turkish side, who sit second in the Super Lig, had agreed a deal with Manchester United for the goalkeeper’s services.

But, it was Onana’s own decision which was holding the deal up.

Then, today, Andre Onana gave his green light to the deal to Türkiye which, alongside a ‘here we go’ sign off from Fabrizio Romano, has made the completion of this deal inevitable.

Now, a key part of the deal has been revealed.

According to Chris Wheeler, speaking on his X account, Andre Onana will receive a pay rise whilst at Trabzonspor on loan.

Wheeler also confirmed that there will be no loan fee or an option to buy the ‘keeper following the duration of the loan arguably showing Amorim’s intention to use him in the future.

Now, attention will arguably turn towards the three parties – Onana, United and Trabzonspor – to complete the deal before the Turkish transfer deadline before the deadline on the 11th.
