Andre Onana has been at the centre of a transfer saga in this summer’s transfer window as his future at Old Trafford has been under scrutiny.
The goalkeeper, who joined Manchester United two years away from Inter Milan, hasn’t featured in any of the Red Devils’ three Premier League games so far.
Furthermore, the Cameroon international has only featured in the League Cup against Grimsby Town where his errors arguably led to United being knocked out of the competition on penalties.
With his lack of involvement in Ruben Amorim’s squads, he was linked with a move to West Ham United in the closing stages of the English summer transfer window.
However, this was a move that faded out following the Hammers’ rejection of a possible deal.
Following this, in the last couple of days – following the closure of the English window -, Onana has been linked with a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor.
The Turkish outfit had previously increased their transfer offer for the goalkeeper before agreeing a deal with the Red Devils yesterday.
But, with club to club negotiations arguably agreed, attention turned towards the Cameroon international for a decision.
Now, an important update has emerged as the ‘keeper has made his choice to a move away from Old Trafford.
According to Ben Jacobs, Andre Onana is now close to joining Trabzonspor after giving his green light to leaving Manchester United.
Jacobs has also stated that talks are ongoing today to try and finalise the agreement.
Finally, the journalist has revealed that Trabzonspor want Onana to sign within 24 hours.
With this news now revealed, attention will arguably turn towards the goalkeeper and Trabzonspor to agree a deal over a move.
If a agreement can be reached, we may see Onana leave United in the coming days.
