Manchester United’s turbulent season under Ruben Amorim has been marked by inconsistency and underperformance, leaving the club on the brink of their lowest-ever Premier League finish.

With Champions League qualification now hinging on success in the Europa League, Amorim is under pressure to revitalize the squad.

The Portuguese manager has hinted at significant changes, emphasizing the need to reassess the current roster and make strategic acquisitions to improve the team’s competitiveness.

A key component of this overhaul involves the potential sale of academy graduate Alejandro Garnacho.

The 20-year-old winger, who has made 137 appearances and contributed 46 goals or assists for United, has struggled to adapt to Amorim’s tactical system.

Despite a strong start to the season, Garnacho’s form has dipped, and he has found it challenging to secure a consistent role in the team.

United are reportedly open to offers for Alejandro Garnacho, viewing his sale as a means to generate funds for new signings.

Given that Alejandro Garnacho is a homegrown player, any transfer fee would be recorded as pure profit under the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Atletico Madrid, Garnacho’s former club, have expressed interest in re-signing the winger, with reports suggesting a potential €60 million deal.

TalkSPORT reports that the funds from Garnacho’s sale are expected to be directed towards acquiring Wolves forward Matheus Cunha.

United are keen to activate Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause to bolster their attacking options.

Cunha’s experience and playing style are seen as a better fit for Amorim’s system, making him a priority target for the summer transfer window.

As United prepare for a crucial period in their season, the potential departure of Garnacho emphasises the club’s commitment to restructuring the squad and aligning it with Amorim’s vision.

While the decision to part ways with a promising academy product may be difficult, it reflects the broader strategy to build a team capable of competing at the highest level.
