Adam Wharton is one of the most in-demand midfielders in the Premier League right now, after a successful season last year with Crystal Palace, helping them secure their first major trophy by winning the FA Cup.
After their successful 1-0 FA Cup win over Manchester City, Palace went on to beat Liverpool in the Community Shield, vitally setting up Ismaila Sarr to draw the score level at 2-2 to take the game to penalties, which they ultimately won.
Now, Wharton and Palace are through to the UEFA Conference League group stage after beating Fredrikstad 1-0, however, he could be set for a winter transfer window move.
Earlier it was reported that Manchester United are continuing to monitor the England international as they look to sign a new midfielder in the coming transfer windows.
This summer The Red Devils prioritised recruiting to their attack and made a last-minute move to sign Senne Lammens in goal on deadline day.
However, with Kobbie Mainoo’s future uncertain, no replacement for Christian Eriksen signed as of yet, and Casemiro into the last year of his contract at 33 years old, it’s clear a new, young midfielder is needed soon.
It’s understood however, that they’re up against Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea, who are also both looking to the 21-year-old in January.
Now though, DaveOCKOP has revealed that Adam Wharton is in favour of a move to Anfield over Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge.
It was also reported that LaLiga giants Real Madrid are also interested; however, Liverpool appears to have the edge.
Crystal Palace are understood to be wanting in excess of £60 million for their star, which, for United, in comparison to Carlos Baleba’s £120 million price tag, Wharton is a significantly cheaper option, however they would need to beat Liverpool to their long-term target.
