Manchester United have been looking to the summer transfer window to rebuild their squad, with The Red Devils looking to recruit across the pitch.

Whilst the club have been prioritising a build of their attack, focusing on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, with Cunha having already arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers and a move for Brentford’s Mbeumo being closer than ever.

However, The Red Devils are also looking elsewhere with another focus on upgrading their goalkeeping options and looking for strength in midfield.

In the middle of the pitch, the club have been linked to Atalanta’s Ederson for a long time, however some other names have now entered the fray.

One option in particular is Valencia’s Javi Guerra, who’s broken through the Spanish side’s youth academy, lighting up the senior side.

Last season the 22-year-old was a key part of the club’s LaLiga campaign, especially toward the end of the season.

Two weeks ago, news appeared out of nowhere that United were closing in on a move for the centre-midfielder; however, this was quickly debunked, stating Guerra was waiting to understand his new contract offer before considering a move.

However, Matteo Moretto has now reported that contract discussions took place between Guerra and Valencia on 7th July, however no formal offer has been made to extend the youngster’s contract.

As such, Moretto has explained that AC Milan have now contacted Valencia for a possible move for Javi Guerra.

The level of United’s current interest in the midfielder is unknown at this time, however if he is on their rader, they need to act fast to secure his future at Old Trafford.
