Manchester United’s transfer drama has once again grabbed the headlines as the summer window continues to simmer.

The Red Devils are navigating a tricky period with several players unsettled and questions over squad harmony dominating discussions among fans.

Across Europe, top clubs are weighing options to bolster their attacks, leaving United in a delicate position when it comes to managing player departures.

With pre-season tours complete and the league just around the corner, decisions over squad members like Alejandro Garnacho could define how Ruben Amorim shapes his side.

Attention is now focused on how United handle one of their most high-profile outcasts amid growing transfer speculation.

Three Champions League clubs — Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Atletico Madrid — have all decided against pursuing Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho this summer, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Each club conducted due diligence on the 21-year-old before turning their focus elsewhere.

Arsenal and Spurs, for example, are instead targeting Crystal Palace talisman Eberechi Eze, while Arsenal have already signed Chelsea winger Noni Madueke.

Tottenham have also explored a move for Manchester City’s Savinho.

Atletico Madrid, Garnacho’s former club, considered re-signing him but opted to buy Alex Baena from Villarreal instead.

Chelsea, however, remain the frontrunners for Alejandro Garnacho.

The player’s agents, Carlos Cambeiro and Enrique de Lucas — who played for Chelsea in the 2002-03 Club World Cup campaign — visited Stamford Bridge during the January window.

Garnacho’s relationship with Amorim has been strained since May, when the United head coach told him he could leave following a period of unrest.

The Argentina international reportedly questioned his future and complained about being demoted to the bench after United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.

Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford were dropped by Amorim in December 2024 following issues around attentiveness in training and match preparation.

Off the pitch, Garnacho has caused headlines with social media posts, including celebrating a post-season trip to Asia and wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Rashford’s name on it.

United have also acknowledged issues with his brother Roberto, whose own outbursts have added to the commotion.

Since joining United from Atletico Madrid’s academy in 2020, Garnacho has made 144 appearances and scored 28 goals, including key contributions in the FA Youth Cup and FA Cup final against Manchester City in 2024.

Despite his talent, his time at Old Trafford has been marred by discipline issues, late arrivals, and conflicts with managerial staff — challenges that could now see him depart the club for Chelsea this summer.
