With the transfer window in full swing, Manchester United are finally making moves with both signings and outgoings.
Today news finally came through that United and Brentford have finally agreed a deal for Bryan Mbeumo, seeing the Cameroon international heading to Old Trafford for his medical assessment and contract signing this weekend.
Jadon Sancho is also close to a move, with the winger finally agreeing terms to join Juventus, just waiting on United to agree Juve’s £15 million offer.
However, the Red Devils are also looking to get some loan moves under way for their younger stars to aid their development and gain more match experience.
It’s been revealed that Harry Amass is being left out of the club’s pre-season tour to prioritise a loan move and gain regular first-team football.
Now, Nathan Salt has revealed another United star set for a loan away from the club is Joe Hugill.
The 21-year-old striker has come through the United academy, already having four loan moves in the last two years.
Back in January 2023, Altrincham took the striker on loan for the second half of the 2022/23 season.
A year later in January 2024, Hugill was off once more to Burton Albion for the remainder of the 2023/24 season, competing in League One, grabbing a goal and three assists in 18 games.
Last summer saw Joe Hugill return to League One with Wigan Athletic, making 13 appearances in League One with three goals.
However upon his return in January, Hugill was off less than two weeks later to Carlisle United in League Two, grabbing two goals in 17 appearances.
Now, it’s understood that League Two side Barnet are looking to take Hugill on loan in the coming days.
It’s unknown as of yet if this would be for the full season or for yet another six-month period.
Exc: Understand Joe Hugill is joining Barnet on loan this summer.
