Next Sunday, Manchester United face Manchester City in a game that could further shape the Premier League title race.

While City currently sit 11 points off the top, Pep Guardiola’s history of orchestrating late-season winning streaks keeps them firmly in the conversation.

Liverpool, no strangers to City’s ability to close gaps, won’t be celebrating prematurely, knowing all too well how quickly things can change.

However, if United manage to beat City and Liverpool secure three points in their own fixture, the gap would widen to 14 points.

Even for a manager of Guardiola’s caliber, that might be a bridge too far.

This matchup comes at an opportune moment for United, with City winless in their last seven games.

Ruben Amorim will likely be relishing the chance to claim a victory over the reigning champions, particularly given City’s current vulnerabilities.

That said, there’s no room for complacency. City, despite their poor form, remain a dangerous side capable of brilliance.

Amorim and his squad will need to strike a balance between confidence and caution as they aim to dent City’s title hopes.
