Who Else?

Manchester United faced a crucial decision in the summer, ultimately sticking with Erik ten Hag after the FA Cup victory over Manchester City seemed to secure his position.

However, the club had explored other managerial options.

Thomas Tuchel, who had recently left Bayern Munich, held discussions but was unconvinced by the offer.

Former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter, sacked in April 2023, was also linked with the job but remained non-committal at the time.

He has since expressed his readiness to return to management.

Michael Carrick has also recently been linked as an interim manager if ten Hag is to depart.

Ruud van Nistelrooy rejoined United as part of ten Hag’s team, making him a potential short-term solution if the club opts for a change.

Meanwhile, Simone Inzaghi’s success with Inter Milan, including a Champions League final appearance, continues to make him a tempting candidate.

Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna is another name on the radar, though his time might come later.
