1. Nuno Mendes
In an ideal world, Manchester United’s left wing-back would be Nuno Mendes.
Widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in the world, Mendes possesses many of the qualities United desperately need.
He is an exceptional ball carrier, has outstanding final delivery, and is defensively reliable.
Having already thrived under Ruben Amorim’s system in the past, he seems like the perfect fit.
However, signing Mendes would be far from straightforward.
Despite rumours of his desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain, his transfer fee would likely be substantial, and his wages high – both of which pose challenges for a cash-strapped Manchester United.
Adding to the complications are Mendes’ own injury concerns, which could make this dream signing unlikely to materialize.
2. Patrick Dorgu
Patrick Dorgu would be another outstanding option for Manchester United.
Regarded as one of the best young full-backs in the world, signing him would be a significant investment in the club’s future.
While still raw, Dorgu possesses remarkable qualities: he is a powerful runner, strong in possession, and, crucially, versatile.
Having played as both a left-back and a right-winger this season, he embodies the adaptability Ruben Amorim values in his players.
Reports suggest Dorgu is interested in joining Manchester United, making this a realistic target.
However, any potential deal is unlikely to materialise before the summer transfer window.
