Kieran McKenna, who began his coaching journey as an assistant at Manchester United, has made a name for himself with back-to-back promotions at Ipswich Town.
McKenna has shown promise in his managerial career.
However, he hasn’t been truly tested at the highest level yet.
In his early days in the Premier League, McKenna has made an ok start.
Ipswich have drawn four of their first six matches but struggling to convert those performances into wins.
Given his relatively unproven track record, United may view him as too much of a risk for a high-pressure role, particularly during this tumultuous period.
But it’s not the first time that McKenna would be linked to the Old Trafford hotseat.
Back in April, McKenna was linked to the role having guided Ipswich Town to the English Premier League.
It remains to be seen whether this opportunity will come too soon for former United coach.
