Casemiro – 7/10
United’s defensive midfielder had a relatively decent performance in my view.
He was putting in some big tackles to thwart Wolves’ attacks and made some crucial blocks.
The Brazilian played some nice passes too, but was slightly over zealous when Wolves broke, leaving the defence exposed.
Mason Mount – 5/10
It was Mount’s Old Trafford debut and it wasn’t a great one.
He was largely isolated throughout the game, having only 30 touches and completing just 17 passes.
In the end, he was taken off after 67 minutes.
Fans will be hoping for a brighter display from the summer signing in the coming games of the season.
Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
It wasn’t Fernandes’ best performance.
The Portuguese midfielder was misplacing passes fairly often and struggled to find his rhythm in the game.
He did what he does best though, which is to come up with that one pass to open up the game.
He found Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s run in the box, which was the action that won the game for United.
Alejandro Garnacho – 3/10
This was one of Garnacho’s worst displays since his breakout in the 22/23 season.
The Argentine was constantly running into players, misplacing passes and making poor decisions in the final 3rd.
These games are important for his development though, building experience from starting in the toughest league in the world.
Hopefully he improves in the coming games.
Marcus Rashford – 4/10
Rashford at striker against a team like Wolves was not a pleasent sight.
The top-scorer from last season really struggled to get into the game and was limited to just 1 shot on target all game.
His hold-up play was patchy too, losing the ball quite frequently.
The team would really benefit of having him on his preferred left wing rather than in the middle.
Antony – 7.5/10
The Brazilian livewire was sharp in this game.
He had some good moments 1v1 against Rayan Ait-Nouri and was ever so willing to do the dirty work out of possession.
His end product was the thing lacking most again though, but we can only hope that will improve when Rasmus Højlund is ready to jump into the fray.
