The David Moyes Season
David Moyes took over the reins at Manchester United in the summer of 2013, following the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
Expectations were sky-high, but Moyes’s tenure quickly turned into a nightmare.
His first and only season ended in disarray, as United finished seventh in the Premier League, their lowest position in over two decades.
Moyes’s side accumulated only 64 points, a stark contrast to the 89 points United secured the previous season under Ferguson. .
The squad also faced significant challenges, including injuries to key players like Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney, which limited Moyes’s tactical options.
The former Everton manager attempted various formations and strategies, but nothing seemed to stick, leaving the fans disillusioned and frustrated.
Ultimately, his failure to secure Champions League football for the following season proved to be the final nail in his coffin, leading to his dismissal.
