Number 2
Andy Cole (1995) – Hit
Cole’s dynamic partnership with Dwight Yorke became a cornerstone of United’s triumphant 1998-1999 treble-winning season.
Andy’s prolific goal-scoring ability shone during his tenure at United, netting an impressive 121 goals across 275 appearances, winning five Premier League titles, a Champions League victory and two FA Cups.
Cole sits fourth in the all-time English Premier League goalscorers list, only behind Alan Shearer, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney.
Alex Telles (2020) – Miss
The left-back was signed from FC Porto to provide competition and cover in the defensive line.
Telles showed promise with his crossing ability and set-piece prowess in his debut season but soon found himself on the fringes.
He currently plays for Al Nassr and his time at United can be considered a disappointment, as he never really found his rhythm and impact in the team.
