Sekou Kone
Signed from FC Guidars for £1 million this summer, Sekou Kone was initially earmarked for Manchester United’s academy, with a view for first team football.
However, with Ruben Amorim now at the helm, Kone’s pathway to the first team could accelerate.
The 18-year-old made his senior debut against Sunderland earlier this week, displaying remarkable composure and physicality.
Amorim’s preferred two-man midfield demands players who can excel in all phases of the game, and Kone fits the bill.
He covers large spaces, something United’s midfield has sorely missed.
Whilst also remaining secure on the ball.
His ability to carry possession and progress play with incisive passing makes him a valuable asset.
With Amorim’s fearless approach to youth, Kone could see more first-team opportunities, potentially debuting in a cup competition soon.
If he continues to impress, the young midfielder could become a regular fixture in United’s squad, filling a crucial role in Amorim’s system.
