Lisandro Martinez

Lisandro Martinez’s place in the starting XI may be under scrutiny.

Many believed a move to left centre-back in a back three would elevate his performances, but he appears to have regressed.

His error for Spurs’ second goal was glaring – failing to clear his lines and gifting Dejan Kulusevski a finish.

More concerning, however, is his overall box defending, which remains a significant weakness with little sign of improvement.

For Spurs’ third goal, Martinez’s struggles in defending spaces were ruthlessly exposed.

Tracking Dominic Solanke after a ball over the top, he was beaten far too easily, allowing Solanke to fire past Bayindir.

If Martinez is to regain Ruben Amorim’s full trust, he must address these vulnerabilities quickly.

Leny Yoro

A standout positive for  Manchester United was Leny Yoro, particularly his first-half performance.

Yoro excelled in defensive transitions, breaking up numerous counterattacks with composure and precision.

Beyond his defensive contributions, Yoro was outstanding in progressing the ball forward.

His ability to break lines and consistently find one of United’s two attacking midfielders was a key aspect of United’s build-up play.

Although he tired as the game went on, Yoro’s display will have given Ruben Amorim plenty of encouragement.

Keeping him fit will be crucial if he is to play a significant role in this United side.
