Second Half Improvements
Under Erik ten Hag, Manchester United rarely adapted mid-game, but this is an area where Ruben Amorim thrives – and it showed against Ipswich.
Early in the second half, Amorim introduced Manuel Ugarte and Luke Shaw to bolster physicality and control in key areas of the pitch.
He also adjusted the structure by swapping Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho, providing more defensive cover on the left flank, where Ipswich had been causing problems.
Before moving Bruno Fernandes deeper later in the game to try and find a winner.
These subtle but effective changes helped Manchester United gain small advantages across the pitch and gradually take control of the game.
Amorim’s ability to make tactical adjustments mid-game is a hallmark of his management style.
In a league as competitive as the Premier League, these in-game tweaks are essential for a manager’s success and could prove pivotal in United’s season.
