4. Zirkzee Struggles

Joshua Zirkzee arrived from Bologna with high expectations and was heralded as a unique forward who could provide creativity in a “false nine” role, similar to Roberto Firmino’s style at Liverpool.

He quickly made a positive impression, scoring the winner on his debut against Fulham, but his form has since wavered, consistently missing opportunities.

Although he provided an assist against Fenerbahce, his overall play was sluggish.

His performances lack the finishing quality and link-up play United were hoping for, and recent reports suggest he could be on the way out if improvements aren’t made.

Zirkzee’s talent is evident, but he needs to regain his confidence and deliver consistently to cement his place in ten Hag’s plans.
