Five things we learnt from United’s 3-3 draw vs Porto.

3. Dominated in Box

Porto’s physical dominance in the box was evident.

Samu Omorodion, in particular, caused havoc for United’s centre-backs, beating them on crosses.

His physicality proved too much for the United defence to handle, even though this is the kind of threat new signing Matthijs de Ligt was brought in to neutralise.

United had looked better aerially since De Ligt came in but today showed a lack of concentration from De Ligt where defending crosses.

He will need to focus on this but will likely get better as he gets older.

De Ligt still has years till he hits his prime years as a centre back and will be focused on improving with each mistake
