5. Continued set piece improvement

One of Manchester United’s standout improvements this season has been their set-pieces.

New coach Andreas Georgson has clearly made a significant impact on the training ground, with crucial help from Matthijs de Ligt.

In their recent match against Southampton, United netted two goals from set pieces, including one from de Ligt.

Today, de Ligt came close again, getting on the end of a well-worked set piece, only for Dean Henderson to produce a superb save.

Combined with a noticeable improvement in defending set pieces, this new strength will be vital for United in picking up crucial points.

On another day, it could easily have been a masterful 1-0 win, with an early set-piece goal making all the difference.
