2. More big chances missed

Before the game, it was clear that if Manchester United were to take all three points, they needed to improve their finishing.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

In the first half, United missed five big chances, squandering what had been a strong performance.

Manchester United now lead the English Premier League in big chances missed, with 16.

If this trend continues, United will struggle to climb the table and meet their preseason expectations.

They will be hopeful that the return of Rasmus Hojlund can help solve this issue.

Hojlund, who scored 10 Premier League goals last season, has the qualities to address United’s finishing problems with his clean ball striking and knack for finding himself in the right areas.

Although Joshua Zirkzee has performed excellently in recent games, Erik ten Hag faces a tough decision on whether to opt for a more natural goalscorer like Hojlund in his front line for the next game.
