1. Dean Henderson heroics
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson was named Man of the Match.
Once seen as United’s future number one, Henderson joined Crystal Palace in an initial £15 million deal in 2023.
Henderson made seven saves against his former club, becoming the first goalkeeper to make 7+ saves and keep a clean sheet against Manchester United since Nick Pope in 2020.
His most crucial saves came in the first half, notably denying Alejandro Garnacho and Matthijs de Ligt early on.
Henderson even stopped an effort that would have been an own goal.
These key saves allowed Crystal Palace to stay in the game at 0-0 rather than having to chase the game.
This performance will sting even more for United fans, considering Henderson was once the ‘next big thing’ from the United academy.
However, questions will be asked as to whether United could have done better with these chances.
