3. Struggling forwards
Manchester United haven’t struggled to create chances this season.
But converting them has been a major issue.
They currently lead the Premier League in missed big chances.
United’s four main attackers – Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo, Marcus Rashford, and Joshua Zirkzee – have each only managed one goal in the league so far.
For a team chasing a top-four finish, just four goals from your primary forwards in five games is far from sufficient.
Adding to the problem, Bruno Fernandes, typically a reliable source of goals, has yet to find the back of the net this season.
Fernandes missed a particularly glaring chance in the draw away to Crystal Palace.
If United are to improve, this must change.
The return of Rasmus Hojlund could be crucial.
After scoring 10 Premier League goals last season, Hojlund’s natural finishing ability is something Erik ten Hag will be counting on to turn these chances into goals.
