2. Tricky fixtures
Although Manchester United have struggled in the early stages of their season, the fixtures are only getting tougher. Their next three games are:
Tottenham Hotspur (H)
FC Porto (A)
Aston Villa (A)
Last season, United only managed a point against Spurs.
While Tottenham have also had a difficult start to the 2024/25 campaign, this will still be a challenging match for ten Hag’s side.
Following that, United face what many believe to be their toughest Europa League fixture, an away trip to FC Porto.
After the disappointing 1-1 draw with FC Twente, they’ll be eager to get back on track in Europe.
Finally, an away game against Aston Villa will be another huge test.
Villa, who finished fourth last season, have been resilient and hard to beat this year.
This means Manchester United will need to be at their best to secure a result.
These three fixtures present a real challenge for Erik ten Hag.
But if he can manage positive results, it could provide a much-needed momentum shift and change the course of United’s season.
