Luke Shaw is the only player on this list that still playing for either club.

Shaw came through the Southampton youth academy before being snapped up by Manchester United in 2014 for £30 million – the then world record transfer fee for a teenager.

Despite joining at the relatively young age of 18, Shaw was pinpointed as a potential wonderkid in the making.

He’d already represented England at the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

Shaw has shown glimpses of brilliance at United, with periods where he’s been regarded as one of the best left-backs in the English Premier League.

However, his career has been plagued by inconsistency and injuries, especially since the severe leg break he suffered in 2015.

Even at the time of writing this article, Shaw is on the injury list at Old Trafford.

Shaw would surely have relished the chance to make his return from injury against his former club this weekend.

But unfortunately, he’ll have to wait at least another week before resuming Premier League action.

Despite his injury record, Shaw will go down as a success for his time in Manchester based on his performances for the club over the years.
