Christian Eriksen’s inclusion in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Southampton came as a surprise.

With Casemiro and new signing Manuel Ugarte seen by most as higher in the pecking order, not many saw the former Tottenham star starting.

However, the Danish playmaker put in a solid performance.

Despite this, Erik ten Hag is likely to consider bringing back Casemiro, who’s had a difficult start to the season.

The Brazilian midfielder made two costly mistakes leading to Liverpool goals in United’s 3-0 defeat and was hooked at halftime.

Ten Hag will be keen to reintroduce Casemiro to help him regain confidence.

However, if feeling brave, he could opt to start new signing Manuel Ugarte.

Ugarte would add much needed bite into the Manchester United midfield.

This may also be the perfect time to introduce Ugarte, against a slightly weaker opposition.

Either way, it would be a major surprise if Eriksen was to continue again and either of the more traditional DMs continue to sit on the bench tomorrow.
