Miguel Gutierrez has emerged as a potential left-back option for Manchester United.
There were reports back from January that United were tracking the 22-year-old.
Gutierrez signed for Girona in 2022 and quickly established himself.
His ability to invert into central areas, his calmness in possession and 86% pass completion rate place him among the top full-backs in Europe.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed United’s interest, although there are no direct negotiations yet.
However, the move won’t be straightforward.
Manchester City’s influence over Girona, through their shared ownership, complicates any transfer.
There is also believed to be competition from the likes of West Ham, Arsenal, and Real Madrid, who hold a buyback clause.
These all add further obstacles to any transfer.
While signing Gutierrez won’t be easy, his blend of defensive solidity and offensive versatility makes him an exciting prospect for Manchester United’s left-back shortlist.
