1. Stretch the pitch
As well as Joshua Zirkzee has played, Hojlund is a completely different type of striker.
Zirkzee will come to feet, linking up play in the pockets and using his technical ability to take defenders out of the game.
Whereas Rasmus Hojlund is more of a runner.
He will stretch defenses, running in behind and occupying both centre-backs.
If Hojlund replaces Zirkzee, he will stretch the pitch, allowing more space for United’s creative players, especially Bruno Fernandes, who has struggled recently.
Manchester United’s next fixture is against Tottenham Hotspur, and Hojlund’s straight-line running power may be crucial, exposing Spurs’s very high line.
Hojlund running in between will force the Tottenham centre-backs to run backwards, creating more space in the centre of the pitch.
With Hojlund and Rashford running in behind, United may be able to catch Spurs out in transition.
