1. Jonny Evans
Manchester United’s left-back situation is a significant concern for Erik ten Hag ahead of their match against Brentford.
First-choice options Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw have been out with long-term injuries, forcing ten Hag to look for alternatives.
So far this season, Diogo Dalot has been filling in at left-back, but another reshuffle may be on the horizon.
With Noussair Mazraoui still recovering from heart surgery and unlikely to start, Dalot is expected to return to his preferred right-back role.
This leaves ten Hag searching for a suitable replacement on the left. Jonny Evans has been reported as a potential option.
Evans has filled in when needed and even earned Man of the Match in United’s recent draw against Aston Villa.
His solid performance could warrant a start, though left-back is far from his ideal position.
However, with centre-back injuries piling up, Evans may be needed to play centre back.
Erik ten Hag now faces a tough call in defence, possibly having to experiment with less conventional solutions to plug the gaps.
