Ruben Amorim and his squad have arrived in America as Manchester United prepare for their pre-season tour of the USA, taking part in the Premier League Summer Series.
The Red Devils are set to take on West Ham United on 27th July in New Jersey, Bournemouth in Chicago on 31st July and finally Everton in Atlanta on 3rd August before flying back to the UK.
As such, the United squad and coaches are setting up shop in the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Chicago as a central point to avoid major travel to take part in the Summer Series.
Previous tours in the States over the last two years have seen The Red Devils get unhappy with the level of travel for games, such as in 2023 when the club set up camp in San Diego, repeatedly travelling East for games against Real Madrid in Houston and Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas, changing multiple time zones.
This time round, being based in Chicago means that the games either side of their Chicago match up with Bournemouth are only an hour difference in time zone, meaning less of an effect on Amorim’s men.
As the squad will have limited downtime between training, The Daily Mail has reported that the Waldorf Astoria hotel has transformed some of its rooms to accommodate the club, using it as a base.
It’s understood that the club’s banquet hall has been turned into a recreation room, including a darts board, table tennis table and even a couple of basketball hoops for the squad to unwind when not training.
However, that’s not all the hotel has done, understanding there’s more to the club than just it’s players during this most important transfer window for Ruben Amorim.
As such, one of the hotel’s lounges has been adapted into a temporary war room for the club’s leadership to discuss transfer business whilst on tour.
