Manchester United’s end-of-season financial review is starting to take shape as club chiefs prepare for an intense summer rebuild under new boss Ruben Amorim.
With multiple high earners expected to leave and INEOS planning a squad overhaul, every bit of income helps toward reshaping the squad.
United’s participation in European and international competitions has not translated into silverware recently, but the financial perks are quietly stacking up.
And while the Premier League giants finished outside the Champions League spots this term, there’s still some positive financial news from the continent.
UEFA have officially confirmed a huge round of payments to clubs across Europe — and Manchester United are among the top earners.
The Red Devils received a tidy £2,713,940 from UEFA for releasing their players for national team duty.
These payments form part of the Club Benefits Programme, which compensates clubs whose players feature in tournaments like the Nations League, European Qualifiers and Euro 2024.
This particular cycle covers the years 2020 to 2024, excluding the rescheduled Euro 2020 that took place in the summer of 2021.

Each club receives compensation based on how many players they released and the number of days spent on international duty, including a fixed fee per player for tournaments like Euro 2024.
In total, over 900 clubs were paid by UEFA, with English clubs receiving a combined total of £40million.
Manchester City came out on top among Premier League clubs with £4.44m earned, followed by Arsenal (£3.34m), Liverpool (£3.04m), and then United.
Across Europe, Real Madrid (£4.11m), Inter Milan (£4m), Barcelona (£3.8m), PSG (£3.8m) and Bayern Munich (£3.75m) were also high up on the list.
The money arrives at a crucial time for United as they continue evaluating player contracts, transfer funds, and pre-season planning.
With a new manager at the helm and big changes looming, every additional revenue stream will be key to shaping the Amorim era at Old Trafford.
