Tonight is a major night in the calendar for English football, with the PFA Awards taking place yet again.

The evening is a chance for each of the EFL and WSL to announce their Teams of the Year as well as the Player’s Player of the Year awards.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was included as one of the six nominated for the coveted Player’s Player of the Year award alongside Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice and Mohamed Salah, with Salah taking home the trophy.

The Women’s shortlist consisted of Manchester United’s Phallon Tullis-Joyce alongside Mariona Caldentey, Erin Cuthbert, Mary Fowler, Yui Hasegawa and Alessia Russo, with Caldentey winning overall.

Whilst both Fernandes and Tullis-Joyce missed out on winning the Player’s Player of the Year award, one of the pair made it into the Team of the Year alongside three other Manchester United stars.

The PFA Women’s Super League Team of the Year has included Phallon Tullis-Joyce, Jayde Riviere and Maya Le Tissier in their squad for the 2024/25 season.

The trio of Red Devils stars provided the second-highest representation of any club in the Team of the Year, with Arsenal having four of their squad in the line-up.

Player’s Player of the year winner and nominees Mariona Caldentey and Alessia Russa were joined by Emily Fox and Kim Little, with the rest of the line-up being completed with Millie Bright and Erin Cuthbert of Chelsea and Yui Hasegawa and Mary Fowler of Manchester City.

Unfortunately, however unsurprisingly, none of the United’s men’s team managed to make it into the Premier League Team of the Year, with Ruben Amorim’s squad ending up in the bottom half of the table.
