Ruben Amorim and his squad are preparing for Manchester United’s next pre-season fixture against West Ham.
United take on the Hammers on Sunday, 27th July, in their second pre-season game, following a 0–0 draw with Leeds.
Amorim will be hoping to use this time wisely, familiarising the players with his system and structure ahead of an important season.
After signing Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, Amorim has a key task in getting them up to speed before the Premier League campaign begins, with more signings expected to follow.
Following persistent injury problems last season, Amorim has made injury prevention a top priority heading into the new campaign.
Many United players are back to full fitness and are working to build match sharpness, but a few absentees remain from the first-team squad.
According to Rob Dawson via X, three United players, Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, and Joshua Zirkzee have been training away from the main group.
While the first team trained at Soldier Field, Chicago this morning, Onana, Martinez, and Zirkzee were not involved.
Instead, they took part in individual sessions as they continue their recoveries from injury.
Onana suffered a hamstring injury earlier in pre-season.
Although there were initial concerns it could be a long-term issue, his recovery appears to be progressing faster than expected.
Zirkzee picked up a minor knock and is expected to return soon.
Martinez, however, is still working his way back from a long-term knee injury and is likely to be out for a bit longer, though his recovery is going well.
Amorim will be hoping to keep his squad as fit as possible heading into the new season and will be eager to avoid any further injuries during pre-season, ensuring a full and productive preparation period.
