Last month, Thomas Tuchel was appointed as England’s new manager following the departure of Gareth Southgate after Euro 2024.
Southgate managed to lead the team to back-to-back Euro finals, however new quite got across the line to secure the trophy.
Now, the FA have decided that Tuchel it the right man to take the reigns and bring home some silverware.
However, before joining the England squad, Tuchel was the firm favourite to replace Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, with the German manager even having talks with Sir Jim Ratcliffe directly.

With Ruben Amorim set to be taking over at Manchester United today, the club appear to be in safe hands, but this doesn’t stop Tuchel’s interest in one of United’s men in particular.
Thomas Tuchel sends a life line to a Manchester United star
Tuchel is all set to begin his role as of 1st January 2025, however he’s already started planning for his ideal line-up for the Three Lions.
It’s been reported by The Sun that Tuchel is a huge admirer of Marcus Rashford, going so far as to say that England would have won Euro 2024 if he’d have been in the squad.
The new England boss has already reached out to Rashford and his camp, expressing his interest in calling up the striker-turned-winger once more.
A source close to the situation revealed: “Tuchel contacted Marcus and his representatives and told them he saw Marcus as an essential part of the England squad.”
They continued: “He said he believed a big part of England’s failure to win Euro 2024 was not having Marcus as an option.
“Other teams fear his abilities and Tuchel said he believed without Rashford, England didn’t offer a strong attacking threat on the left and that made them easier to play against as a lot of the ball came down the right.
“Tuchel is a huge admirer of Marcus. It’s a great boost for him and another encouragement to try and get back to his best.”
Rashford’s underwhelming performances last season lead to him being left out of the squad by Southgate. However, his recent run of form this season, grabbing four goals and three assists in 18 games is already half way to matching his results last season with a new manager inbound and only a third of the season completed.
