Sir Jim Ratcliffe is continuing his extensive cost-cutting measures, battling the years of financial mismanagement by Manchester United.
The INEOS owner isn’t afraid of making controversial decisions, with 250 members of staff already being made redundant and a further 200 set to follow them.
On top of this key players at Old Trafford have also had their contracts cut, such as the club’s global ambassador Sir Alex Ferguson and head of operations Jackie Kay.
These measures aren’t just affecting the staff though, with fans being impacted through Ratcliffe’s cutting of concessions on ticket prices and reducing funding to associated supporters groups.
However, Ratcliffe’s most recent cut lies with the youngster in the academy.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe imposes cost-cutting exercise on academy squad
Manchester United’s Under-18s squad have had a truly brilliant season so far.
The youngsters started their campaign with 13 straight wins, only being beaten in the end by local rivals Manchester City.
Thankfully for The Red Devils, their 4-0 loss to the Citizens is still their only loss in the league, having now secured two draws and a win since.
Adam Lawrence’s side have also secured their slot in the Fifth Round of the FA Youth Cup which the youngsters would usually play at Old Trafford.
However, The Sun has revealed that Ratcliffe has scrapped this opportunity for the lads to step out and play in the Theatre of Dreams, instead having the fixture played at the 12,000-capacity Leigh Sports Village.
The change of venue is ultimately going to be saving the club £8,000, however it’s also taking away the opportunity for the young Red Devils to get a taste of what could come their way if they keep on performing as they are.
