Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.

United first-team keeper Andre Onana suffered a hamstring injury earlier in pre-season and was initially expected to miss the first three Premier League matches.

However, he now appears to be making a recovery faster than anticipated and could return sooner.

Despite this, United are still aiming to recruit a goalkeeper to strengthen their options between the posts.

Onana endured a difficult season at United, frequently making costly errors in crucial moments that ultimately led to dropped points.

Lammens is regarded as one of Europe’s top young shot-stoppers.

At just 23 years old, he is seen not only as a capable understudy for Onana but also as someone who could realistically challenge for the starting role in the near future.

Lammens has now broken his silence and commented on the possibility of a transfer.

Gazet van Antwerpen has reported Lammens’ comments on the potential move, with the goalkeeper expressing his admiration for Manchester United, saying, “Manchester United is one of the best clubs.”

Lammens also added, “But you never know, there might be another club, or I’ll stay here. When teams like Manchester United come, I think you deserve it.”

The Belgian goalkeeper is clearly not relying solely on the move, acknowledging that he is attracting interest from several other clubs, including newly promoted side Leeds United.

However, if United are to make a bid for the goalkeeper, who is thought to be valued at around £17 million, it appears Lammens would be eager to seize the opportunity and would welcome a move to Old Trafford.

United continue to pursue multiple targets in the transfer window and will aim to complete their business quickly, giving Ruben Amorim enough time to work with his squad ahead of the new season.
