With no other ambulance on hand, the game was abandoned, with a statement later being released that he was conscious and responding well.
Now, CentreDevils have been informed that the young midfielder was discharged this morning and is continuing to recover at home.
It’s understood that being admitted to hospital was a precautionary step, however his swift discharge will still be a relief for United.
Whilst the club are stepping up talks to sign Brighton and Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba, no summer signings have been made yet in the middle of the park.
As such, Sekou Kone is one of the top reserve candidates to cover the midfield should injuries arise with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Casemiro or Bruno Fernandes.
Although Toby Collyer sits above him in the pecking order, recent approaches from Hull over a loan for Collyer could open a door for Kone.
