Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has had a rollercoaster of a year being back in the Premier League.

Last summer, the Manchester United legend was invited back to Old Trafford as part of Erik ten Hag’s remodelled coaching staff in a bid to improve on last season.

However, after only three months at the club, van Nistelrooy was asked to step up and become interim manager as ten Hag was sacked due to the club’s continuing poor results.

In his place, Ruben Amorim was appointed, bringing his coaching staff from Sporting Lisbon, leaving no room for van Nistelrooy at Carrington.

However, less than a month later, the former striker was appointed as manager at Leicester City in a bid to avoid relegation.

Unfortunately, The Foxes have failed in this aim, officially being relegated, unable to get enough points now to get out of the bottom three.

Now, Ben Jacobs has reported that Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to have a meeting with Leicester next week about his future.

It’s understood that it’s likely he’ll be leaving the club with the likes of Russell Martin, Danny Rohl, Cesc Fabregas and Lee Carsley being considered as his replacement.
